What is CEREC?
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) is an advanced imaging system that can whip up a crown for you in one day. Dental crowns are used to repair any damage to your tooth.

How does CEREC work?
This same-day process can be completed in a few simple, high-tech steps:
- First, you’ll have an exam, and your dentist will decide if you need a filling or a crown based on what your current healthy tooth structure looks like.
- If you’re a candidate for CEREC, your dentist will take a 3D digital image of your tooth.
- That image is what creates your custom restoration – no icky-tasting impressions.
- Your color-matched restoration is bonded, and you’re on your way!
CEREC uses CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing).
The design of your new restoration is built by impressions made with computer software, taking the place of traditional U-shaped liquid impressions.
